The Center for Inner Development and Joy, in cooperation with SE™ International and the European Association for Somatic Experiencing® (EASE), is organizing a three-year training program for practitioners. The training will take place in Belgrade, from 2026 to 2028.
The Somatic Experiencing® training is intended for professionals who work with people in various ways and through different modalities. It provides important additional knowledge and competencies for working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Somatic Experiencing®, developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is not a psychotherapeutic or body-oriented therapeutic approach, but a foundational concept for understanding, preventing, and resolving the effects of shock and trauma.
The primary focus of the Somatic Experiencing® training is to acquire knowledge and skills that can already be applied in one’s professional practice after the initial level of training.
The program includes 36 training days, divided into 6 modules, as well as a required number of individual sessions and supervision hours with certified faculty and assistants.

Advanced Year
- Working with the coherence of the body and nervous system
- Polyvagal Theory in the Practice of Somatic Experience®
- Work with chronic conditions (fibromyalgia, migraines, asthma…)
- Working with the eyes and visual system
- Working with Touch in Context®
- Working with joints, diaphragm and visceral systems
- Integration of knowledge and preparation for SE™ practice
The Educational Program with International Teachers and Assistants Includes:
- 6 modules (two beginner, two intermediate, and two advanced) – Each module lasts 6 days and includes both theoretical and practical components
- 20 hours of individual therapeutic work with certified SE® practitioners
- 20 hours of supervision with SE® faculty and certified SE® practitioners
- Peer learning/intervision groups for support and learning
The training is in English with translation into Serbian.
Upon completion of the training, participants receive a certificate from the European Association for Somatic Experiencing®.

Tuition and Payment Options
- The fee for one module is EUR 1,390. Mandatory individual and supervision sessions are paid separately, with prices determined in cooperation with international faculty and certified assistants.
- By arrangement with the training organizers, it may be possible to pay the module fee in 3-5 instalments.
Admission Requirements and Application Process
- The Somatic Experiencing® training is intended for professionals from various fields who work with people: psychologists, psychotherapists, medical and social workers, educators, body- and movement-oriented practitioners, yoga teachers, healthcare professionals, police officers, firefighters, and others.
- A requirement for enrollment in the three-year Training Program is participation in an Introductory (Intro) workshop with certified SE™ faculty. The Center will organize two online Introductory workshops for prospective students and the general public in December 2025 and January 2026.
- An expressed intention to apply the knowledge and techniques of Somatic Experiencing® in professional practice and in working with people. The training is primarily educational in nature, and although it has a significant impact on personal development, it is not designed as a program of personal development and/or self-help.
As part of the application process, candidates are required to submit:
- A completed application form (filled out online)
- A short CV with information relevant to this training program (with a focus on professional experience in working with people, major completed educational programs, and personal development programs)
- Proof/certificate of participation in an Intro SE™ workshop, if already completed
- A motivation letter
- A photograph
Applications for the Training Program will be accepted till the group is full.
The number of participants is limited.
Selection and notification of accepted candidates who submitted the application will be completed by October 10, 2025.
Accepted candidates confirm their place in the training by paying a non-refundable deposit of EUR 400 by November 15, 2025. The deadline for payment of the full fee for the first module is January 10, 2026, and for each subsequent module one month before the start of the module.
